The Love of Three Kings- Act II
A terrace on the castle’s high walls Manfredo is upset because Fiora does not return his love. Fiora’s heart is touched by his request that she wave a veil from the tower as he rides away; he tells her it will soothe the pain of his departure. After Manfredo leaves, Avito, who has been hiding in the castle, surprises her. At first Fiora tries to maintain her distance while continuing to wave the veil. However, Avito’s insistent passion wakens her resolve and she yields to him.
